In ΔABC,

∠A = 60°

The sum of angles of a triangle is 180°.

∴ ∠ABC + ∠ACB = 180° - 60°

⇒ ∠ABC + ∠ACB = 120°      →       (1)

∠ABD and ∠ABC are linear pairs.

∴ ∠ABC = 180 - 2x

Also, ∠ACB and ∠ACE are linear pairs.

∴ ∠ACE = 180 - 4x

From (1),

(180 - 2x) + (180 - 4x) = 120

180 - 2x + 180 - 4x = 120

360 - 6x = 120

6x = 360 - 120

6x = 240

x = 240 / 6

x = 40

Thank you. Have a nice day. :-)
