1st one :-

(-2)^2 = (-2) × (-2) = 4

2nd one :-

-(2)^2 = -(2 × 2) = -(4) = -4

Difference :-

4 - (-4) = 4 + 4 = 8

Hope this helps you.

 - {(2)}^{2} \\ = - (2 \times 2) \\ = - 4 \\ \\ and \\ \\ { - 2}^{2} \\ = ( - 2 \times - 2) \\ = 4 \\ \\ \\ so \: \\ the \: difference \: \\ = 4 - ( - 4) \\ = 4 + 4 \\ =8
