  1. For a circuit, the total resistance can be calculated by calculating effective resistance.

        So, for resistors in parallel, add their reciprocals to find the reciprocal of effective resistance.        

                                                ⇒ \frac{1}{R}  = \frac{1}{R_{1} }  + \frac{1}{R_{2} }      

       And, for resistors in series, add them as usual to get effective resistance.

                                              ⇒  R = R_{1} + R_{2}                                  

     2. The current through the circuit can be known by the formula,

                                       ⇒ I = \frac{V}{R}

     3. The potential difference across RI and R2 is

                                          ⇒ V =IR
