Five animals were waiting outside the zoo to enter, in a queue, in such a way that lion was second to
the right of pig, who was second to the right of zebra. Tiger was not adjacent to lion. Who was at the
left end of the queue?​

  2. Tiger was not adjacent to lion.
  3. Total number of animals = 5 .

Solution :-

Let us assume that, Position of 5 animals from Left to right are :-

  • 1, 2, 3 , 4 , 5 .

Statement (1) first part :- Lion was second to the right of pig .

Conclusion :-

  • Pig , 2 , Lion, 4 , 5 .
  • 1, Pig, 3, Lion , 5 .
  • 1, 2, Pig , 4, Lion.

Statement (1) Second part :- Pig was second to the right of zebra.

Conclusion from both parts of first statement :- Only Possible case possible is ,

  • Zebra , 2, Pig , 4, Lion.

Conclusion from statement (3) :- Tiger was not adjacent to lion.

  • Zebra , Tiger, Pig , 4, Lion.

therefore, from all conclusions we can conclude that, "Zebra" is at the left end of the queue .
