Five capacitors of a capacitance 10 microfarad each are connected with each other, calculate the total capacitance between A and B.

solution =

C₁ = C₂ = C₄= C₅

Therefore, C1 /C2 =  C4/C5

potential difference between across the ends  of C3 is zero .

we can see that the combination between C1 and C2 are in series

C6 = C1 X C2 /C4+C5 = 10 X10 /10 +10   = 5

C6 & C7  are in parellel

C = C6  + C7

C = 5 + 5 = 10 μF

capacitance between A and B is 10μF
