Step-by-step explanation:

side is 3 cm

rate of painting is ₹ 15 cm per sq

total \: surface \: area \: of \: cube \:  =  6 {side}^{2}  \\  = 6 \times  {3}^{2}  \\  = 6 \times 9 \\  = 54 {cm}^{2}

TSA of five cubes = 5 × 54 = 270 sq. cm

As we know that all cubes are attached to side by side .

There are 8 sides which are attached.

 \: area \: of \: attached \: sides \:  = 8 \times  {side}^{2}  \\  = 8 \times  {3}^{2}  \\  = 8 \times 9 \\  = 72 {cm}^{2}

Area of attached cubes excluding attached sides = TSA of all cubes - Area of attached sides

=270 - 72 = 198 sq cm

Cost of painting = rate of painting × area of attached cubes excluding attached sides.

=15×198

= ₹ 2970
