Five different books (A, B, C, D and E) are to be arranged on a shelf. Books C and D are to be arranged first and second starting from the right of the shelf. The number of different orders in which books A, B and E may be arranged is .......

you got total 5 books (A,B,C,D,E)
but you selected 2 books C and D for first 2 position from right to shelf
now you got only 3 books left so you can arrange them in 3*2*1= 6 ways
example -(1) you can arrange A for 3rd starting from right,B 4th starting from the right, E 5th from the right
(2) or you can change E 3rd from the right B 4th from the right EA 5th from the right
so on..
==> you got 6 different orders to arrange A,B,E
