Five equal forces of 10N each are applied at one point and all are lying in one plane. if the angles between them are equal ,the resultant of these forces will be: (A) zero (B) 10 N

The reason is that whenever the number of forces of the same magnitude acts at the same point and that too in the same plane; the magnitude of resultant will be finally zero.

Whenever angles between two vectors are same, forces cancel out each other.

Finally, it results in null vector especially on the same plane.

Angle between the forces:

0=360/5

  =72°

Expression for resultant of the forces:

R= F sinNθ/2/sin θ2  = 20×sin (5×72)/sin 360
