hello mate.
check out
it they are connected in series the equivalent resistor will be 5R
according to R = R1 + R2 + R3 + R4 + R5
WHILE if they are coming in parallel combination
then the total resistance will be R / 5
according to
1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 + 1/R4 + 1/R5
