National Food For Work Program :-
National Food for Work Program was launched in 2004 in 150 most backward districts of the country. The main features of the program are as follows.
1) The objective of the program is to intensify the generation of supplementary wage employment.
2) This program is open to all rural poor who are in need of wage employment and are desired to do manual unskilled work.
3) It is 100 % Centrally sponsored program.
4) The food grains are provided to the States free of cost.
