Machine language is not a human readable language. It is what a compiler converts human readable languages such as C, C++. Algol, Fortran or Basic into. After conversion to machine code, programs written in one of those other languages can be run directly on the processor.

Each processor, or family of processors, has its own machine code, and the processor manufacturer determines what that machine code looks like. If you tried to load a machine code program into a text editor, you would most likely get a meaningless jumble of symbols, as the text editor tried to make sense of it.
