Five forces of equal magnitude P are acting at a point.If the angle between two consecutive forces be 30°, determine the magnitude and direction of their resultant.

I am starting with the answer as in my POV it would help you understand the reason ahead.

It is the polygon rule of vector addition which explains that, for the center of any polygon ,if the forces are acting in the line of action joining all the corners to the centre , then the resultant force would be zero at the center. And remember the sectors formed by the line joining the centre to corners have the equal angles formed by joining the centre to the corners .

You can learn it by taking an practical view to the situation, if you are applying forces to any point, from different directions inclined to each other at the same angle, will somehow or other cancel each components of the force. Hence producing no motion at the point.
