Five main streams of political theory
- Three key streams can be used to further explain the development and evolution of political philosophy. These are: I traditional political theory; (ii) current political theory; and (iii) modern political theory. Political philosophy is categorised into three categories: classical, modern, and current.
- The term "political notions" designates a group of ideas necessary for any meaningful analysis of political activity. Authority, democracy, equality, freedom, justice, power, and other notions that stand for essential political values and principles are included in this group.
- The majority of Americans identify as conservative, liberal, or moderate, and American political beliefs often fall along the left-right political spectrum. Social conservatism, traditional liberalism, and economic liberalism all fall under the umbrella of contemporary American conservatism.
