Five persons are standing in a line
facing north. One of the two persons
standing at the extreme ends is a
teacher and the other is a businessman.
A doctor is standing to the right of a
student. A clerk is to the left of the
businessman. The student is standing
between the teacher and the doctor.
Counting from the left the doctor is at

In the first position of the line( in extremely left ) is the teacher, in the fifth position ( in extremely right) is the buisnessman. The clerk is standing on the fourth position as the buisness man is in extreme right, there would be no one in right of him and it is said left of the buisness man. Now the vacant places are second and third positions. Here the student is said to be in the middle of the teacher and doctor. So between first position( occupied by the teacher and the third position( vacant place). Between 1 and 3 there is the second position. So the student is in second position. And now only the third position is left. In this position there would be the doctor.

1st position = Teacher

2nd position = Student

3rd position = Doctor

4th position = Clerk

5th position = Buisness man
