Five problems that urban people face during floods are as follows -

1. Bad quality of water -

  a. During floods, the water level rises a lot. This water might seep through canals and pipes made for water transportation making the water polluted and thus decreasing its quality.

2. Risk of water-borne diseases -

 a. The virus or bacteria that causes water-borne diseases only grow in water. As the water floods through the roads, the water level is so high, the bacteria get more places to grow and increase in number.

 b. So it increases the risk of people who are going out of their houses to catch more water-borne diseases.

3. Temporary relocation of people

 a. When there is a flood, particular areas get flooded which makes it difficult for people to live in those areas. This leads to the relocation of the people living in those areas.

 b. Even if it's temporary, it causes problems

4. Destruction of property

 a. The speed of floods is very high and the water pressure is very strong during floods.

 b. This leads to the destruction of property and causes a lot of harm

5. Issues in electricity supply

 a. Due to floods and water accumulation, there is a lot of issue with the proper supply of electricity as the wires are laid down or the hanging wires might break due to the wind pressure.
