Multiply both numbers by (2/2)

 - 3 \times  \frac{2}{2}  \: and \:  - 8 \times  \frac{2}{2}

 - (  \frac{ 6}{2}  ) \: and \:  - ( \frac{16}{2} )

Five rationals between -3 and -8 will be,

-(8/2), -(10/2), -(12/2), -(14/2), -(15/2)

= -4, -5, -6, -7, -(15/2)
