Five solutions A, B, C, D and E when tested with universal indicator showed pH as 4, 1, 11, 7 and 9 respectively, Which solution is

e) Weakly alkaline. Arrange the PH in increasing order of hydrogen ion concentration (AS1).

1) -The closer the pH is to 1 the more acidic it is while the closer the pH is to 14, the more alkaline the solution is. 7 indicates a neutral pH.

a) neutral= solution D
b)strongly alkaline= solution E
c)strongly acidic= solution B
d)weakly acidic= solution A
e)weakly alkaline= solution C
2) The more the hydrogen ions in a solution the more the acidic it is. Hence the arrangement will be from the solution with the least hydrogen ions (most basic) to the most (most acidic) :
