Five square flower beds each of sides 1m are dug on a piece of land 5 m long and 4m wide . What is the area of the remaining part of the land?

\large\underline{\underline{\sf{\green{Required \; Solution:}}}}

Remaining area of land,

\sf :\implies  Area \; of \;rectangular\; land - Area \;of \;five \;flower\; beds \sf{:\implies  Area \; of \; rectangular \; lands - 5\times Area \;of \; square \; flower \; beds}

Area of rectangular land,

                :\implies \sf{ length\; of  \;land } =l= \sf 5 ~cm

                :\implies \sf Breath \; of \; land = b = 4  ~m

Area of land,

                :\implies l \times \sf b

                :\implies \sf 5 \times 4

                :\implies \sf 20~ sq. m

                :\implies \boxed{\pink{\sf {20~m^2}}}

Area of square flower bed

Side of flower bed = a = 1 m

Area of flower bed :\implies \sf a \times a

                                 :\implies \sf 1 \times 1

                                 :\implies \sf 1 ~sq.~m

                                 :\implies \boxed{\sf{\pink{1~m^2}}}

Now,

Remaining area of land,

                        \sf :\implies Area \; of \; rectangular \; land - 5 \times Area \; of \; square \; flower \; bed

                        :\implies \sf 20 - 5 \times 1

                        :\implies \sf 20 - 5

                        :\implies \boxed{\sf{\pink{15~m^2}}}

\sf{ \color{brown} {\therefore~ 15m^2 ~of ~the ~remaining~ besides}} \\\sf{\color{brown} {~flower ~beds.}}
