Given:

•Five square flowers beds each of sides 1.4m are dug on piece of land 14m long & 16m wide.

To find:

══════

The area of the remaining part of land.

Explanation:

═════════

We have,

  • Long= 14m
  • Wide= 16m

Area of the rectangular dug;

Area= [14×16]m²

Area= [224]m²

&

Five square flower beds each of side= 1.4m.

Area of the square flower beds= [Side]²

Area= [1.4m]²

Area= [1.4 ×1.4]

Area= [1.96]

Therefore,

  • 5 square beds= 5× 1.96m²
  • 5 square beds= 9.8m²

Now,

Area of the remaining part:

══════════════════

•Area of the dug-area of the flower beds

Remaining part=224m² - 9.8m²

Remaining part= 214.2m²

Hope it helps ☺️
