Given : Marks obtained by 5 students = 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 (respectively)

To find : Mean

Solution : We know the formula of mean

\boxed{\tt{\star{\:Mean\:=\:{\dfrac{\tt{Sum\:of\:all\:numbers}}{\tt{Total\:numbers}}}}}}

= \dfrac{\tt{10\:+\:20\:+\:30\:+\:40\:+\:50}}{\tt{5}}

= \dfrac{\tt{150}}{\tt{5}}

= \tt{30}

Therefore, the mean of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 of 5 students is 30

Remember :

Mean is average of a set. Mean is also known as Average or Arithmetic Mean. The meaning and the formula is the same.
