Answer:

1-2-3-4-5

suppose these are 5 students standing in a row labelled 1,2,3,4,5

diestance between two successive students = 5/4

distance between 1 and 5 should be 4 times of the distance between two successive students because there are four students standing between them

distance between 1 and 5 = 5/4×4

= 5 m

Given:-

  • Five students stand in a row.
  • distance between two successive students is always 5/4 m=1.25m.

To Find:-

  • the total distance between the first and the last students.

Solution:-

According to the question:-

distance from 1st student to 2nd student=1.25m

distance from 2nd student to 3rd student=1.25m

distance from 3rd student to 4th student=1.25m

distance from 4th student to 5th student=1.25m

For finding distance between 1st and last student.

first we need to find the sum of distance between all students.

We know that there are 5 students standing in each row ..

So,

total distance between the first and the last student= distance from 1st to 2nd student + distance from 2nd to 3rd student + distance from 3rd to 4th student + distance from 4th to 5th student

 = > 1.25 + 1.25 + 1.25 + 1.25

\sf = > 6m

∴ the total distance between the first and the last student is 6m.
