Five Ways to minimise falling moral standards of Ghanaian youths
- Teaching children about good virtues starts from home. Parents have a huge duty to internalize all facets of their children so that "they won't depart from it as they grow up. Some of the virtues which parents can teach their children are acceptance, compassion, cooperation, courage, equality, fairness, generosity: willingness to give resources, gratitude, honesty, integrity, kindness, perseverance, politeness, respect, responsibility, self-control, tolerance, & trustworthy. Vices Ghanaian youths must avoid are cultism, examination malpractices, sexual misconduct, drug abuse, & dishonesty.
- Parents must show children good examples & rewarding virtues, and they themselves must set good examples; the one most important thing to teach. Parents should demonstrate and reward their virtues in order to capture them young. Society must also advocate virtues rather than vices. Virtue acts should be encouraged, vices avoided, and punished if necessary.
- Most young people learn about learning in school as they communicate with teachers , peers and other individuals. Some teachers are suspected to abuse their students by immoral activity. This illustrates the kind of examples that are taught to students in classrooms. Strong management provides good encouragement. School administrators are responsible for inculcating in their students learning & discipline.⠀
- Any society which chooses to reward poor performance literally digs its grave. Governments at any point must ensure that merit and accomplishments are rewarded. Employments and contracts on grounds of political and social patronage should not be reserved. Discrimination can lead to sowing bad morals in the youth
- People and society must recognise God. God's life depends not on one's trust. God shows a higher being to be responsible for the world's men's affairs. He reveals the meaning of a man's life and doesn't stop on earth. The heaven is there. It is this Divine awareness which makes the people know that there will come a day when our positive and bad deeds are judged for all that is achieved here on earth.
