y = your current age; x = your oldest sister’s current age

y - 5 = 1/3 (x - 5) {first part of the problem}

3 (y - 5) = x - 5

3y - 15 = x - 5

x = 3y - 10

y = 1/2 x {second part of the problem}

2y = x

x = 2y

2y = 3y - 10

-y = -10

y = 10

your age = 10 years

x = 2y = 2 × 10

= 20

your sister age = 20

Answer:

y=your current age

x=your oldest sister's current age

y-5=1/3(x-5)[first part ]

3(y-5)=x-5

3y-15=x-5

x=3y-10

y=1/2x[second part ]

2y=x

x=2y

2y=3y-10

-y=-10

y=10

y=1/2x

10=1/2x

x=20

You are 10 years old and your sister is 20 years old. I think this is the answer.
