Five years ago, a mother was seven times as old as her daughter. Five years
hence, she will be three times as old as her daughter. Find their present ages.​

then, mother's age be 7x

Five years hence,(present ages)

Mother's age = 7x +5

Daughter's age = x+5

Now,

3(x+5+5)=7x+5+5

3x+30=7x+10

3x-7x =10-30

-4x= -20

-x =-5

x=5

therefore, daughter's age = x+5

=5+5= 10yrs answer

and, mother' age =7x +5

=7*5+5=40yrs answer
