B. Five years hence, A's age will be twice the age

Solution;

Let the ages of A and B be x years and y years respectively.

By Question;

x - 5 = 4 (y - 5)

or, x-5=4y-20

or, x=4y-15...........(i)

Again;

By question;

x + 5 = 2 (y + 5)

or, 4y-15+5=2y+10 [From (i)]

or, 4y-2y=10+15-5

or, 2y=20

or, y=10

Now, Putting y=10 in (i)

x=4y-15

=4x10-15

=40-15

=25

Hence, the present ages of A and B are 25 amd 10 respectively.
