So, five years ago Anu's age was = (x -5) years

Given that, five years ago Sonu's age was = 3(x -5) years or (3x -15) years

From above present age of Sonu's

Ten years later Anu's age = (x + 10) years

Given that 10 years later Sonu's age = 2(x + 10) years = 2x + 20 years

From above present sonu age

= 2x + 20 - 10 = 2x + 10 years ------> equation 2

As equation 1 and 2 both are for present age of sonu on equating both the equations

3x - 10 = 2x + 10

→ 3x - 2x = 10 + 10

→ x = 20

Therefore, Anu's present age = 20 years.

Sonu's present age can be calculated either by equation one or two.
