Let the present age of joy and marry be X and Y.

BEFORE 5 YEARS AGE OF JOY = X-5

BEFORE 5 YEARS AGE OF MARRY = Y-5

A/Q,

X-5 = 3(Y-5)

X-5 = 3Y -15

X-3Y = -15+5

X-3Y = -10

X = -10+3Y ...........(1)

AGAIN,

AFTER 10 YEARS AGE OF JOY = X+10

AFTER 10 YEARS AGE OF MARRY = Y+10

A/Q,

X+10 = 2(Y+10)

X+10 = 2Y+20

X-2Y = 20-10

X-2Y = 10

PUTTING THE VALUE OF X IN,

X-2Y = 10

-10+3Y -2Y = 10

Y = 10+10

Y = 20 YEARS

AGE OF JOY = -10+3Y = -10+3×20 = -10+60 = 50 YEARS.

HENCE,

THE PRESENT AGE OF JOY IS 50 YEARS.

AND,

THE PRESENT AGE OF MARRY IS 20 YEARS.
