Let,
- Present age of Nuri = x years
- Present age of Sonu = y years
A/C to question,
(Five years ago, Nuri was thrice as old as Sonu )
➡ (x -5) = 3 × (y-5)
➡ x - 3y = -15 + 5
➡ x - 3y = -10 _________(1)
Again,
(Three years letters Nuri will be twice as old as Sonu)
➡ (x+3) = 2 × (y+3)
➡ x - 2y = 6 - 3
➡ x - 2y = 3 __________(2)
Subtract equ(1) & equ(2)
➡ -3y + 2y = -10 - 3
➡ -y = -13
➡y = 13
Keep value of y in equ(2)
➡ x - 2*13 = 3
➡x = 3 + 26
➡x = 29
Hence
- Present age of Nuri ( x ) = 29years
- Present age of Sonu ( y) = 13 years
