Five years ago, Nuri was trice as old as Sonu. then years later, Nuri will be twice as old as Sonu. Find the present ages of Nuri and Sonu

Let,

Age of sonu, five years ago be x years
Age of nuri, five years ago was 3x

=======================

10 years later,

sonu's age = (x +5+10) years,
Nuri's age = (3x +5+10) years


According to the question,

nuri's age = 2× sonu's age

(3x +15) = 2(x +15)

3x + 15 = 2x+30

3x -2x = 30-15

x = 15
---------------------------------


Then,

Present age of,

• sonu = (x+5)years = 15+5=20 years
• nuri = (3x +5)years = 45+5=50 years

Hii friend,

Let the age of Nuri and sonu be X and y year's.

Five years before age of Nuri = (X-5) years.

Five years ago age of Sonu = (Y-5) years.

According to question,

(X-5) = 3(Y-5)

X-5 =3Y -15

X-3Y = -15 +5

X-3Y = -10.....(1)

Again,

five years later age of Nuri = (X+5) years.

Five years later age of Sonu = (Y+5) years.

According to question,

X+5 = 2(Y+5)

X+5 = 2Y +10

X-2Y = 10-5

X-2Y = 5......(2)

FROM EQUATION 1 we get,

X-3Y = -10

X = -10 + 3Y......(3)

Putting the value of X in equation (2)

X -2Y = 5

-10 + 3Y -2Y = 5

Y = 5+10

Y = 15..

PUTTING the value of Y in equation (3)

X = -10 + 3Y = -10 + 3 × 15 = -10 + 45 = 35 years.

Hence,

Age of Nuri = X = 15 years.

And,

Age of Sonu = Y = 35 years.
