• Present Age of Ram & Raheem

Explanation

Let,

• Age of Ram = x years
• Age of Raheem = y years

Case(1).

(Five years ago, Ram was seven times as old as Raheem)

➡(x - 5) = 7 * (y - 5)

➡ x - 7y = -35 + 5

➡ x - 7y = -30 -----------(1)

Case(2).

(five years hence, Ram will be three times as old as Raheem)

➡ (x + 5) = 3 * (y + 5)

➡ x - 3y = 15 - 5

➡ x - 3y = 10 ------------(2)

Subtract equ(1) & equ(2)

➡ -7y + 3y = -30 - 10

➡ -4y = -40

➡ y = -40/(-4)

➡ y = 10

Keep Value in equ(2)

➡ x - 3*10 = 10

➡ x = 10 + 30

➡ x = 40

Hence

• Age of Ram (x) = 40 years
• Age of Raheem(y) = 10 years
