Let the present age of Ramya be x years and her daughter's age be y years.

A/Q

Age of Ramya,5 years ago= (x-5)

Age of her daughter ,5 years ago=(y-5)

,', (x-5)=5(y-5)

x-5=5y-25

x=5y-20. -----(i)

Age of Ramya , 10 years later =x+10

Age of her daughter ,10 years later=(y+10)

,', x+10=2(y+10)

x+10=2y+20

x=2y+10. -----(ii)

From i and ii

we get, 5y-20=2y+10

5y-2y=20+10

3y=30

y=10 years .

,', x= 2y+10

=2×10+10

=20+10

=30 years..

Thus , Age of Ramya When her daughter was born=

=30-10

=20 years..
