Answer:

y=25  and x=10

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of A be y and of B is x

So according to 1

st

condition

⇒4(x−5)=y−5

⇒4x−20=y−5

⇒y=4x−15.....(i)

Now according to 2

nd

 condition

⇒5+y=2(x+5)

∴5+(4x−15)=2(x+5)

∴x=10

now from eq. (i) we get,

⇒y=25

∴ y=25  and x=10

Answer: Present age of V = 10 years, and present age of rinas = 25 years.

Step-by-step explanation: Let the present  age of  V be x years.

Therefore, age of V five years ago = (x-5) years.

Therefore, age of rinas five years ago = 4 * (x-5) = 4*x - 20 years.

Five years hence, age of V would be = (x-5) + 10 = x+5 years.

And, age of rinas five years hence would be = 4*x - 20 +10 = 4*x - 10 years.

Given,  (4*x - 10) = 2 * (x +5) = 2*x +10, or, 4*x - 2*x = 10 + 10, or 2*x = 20,

Or, x = 20/2 = 10

Therefore, present age of V = 10 years,

and present age of rinas = 4* (10-5) + 5 = 25 years.
