let present age be 5x and 6x
given five years before it was 4x and 5x
so 5x -5 + 6x -5 = 4x + 5x
11x -10 = 9x
-10 = 9x -11x
-10 = -2x
-2x = -10
x = -10/-2
x= 5
5x = 5*5 = 25
6x = 6*5 = 30
present age is 25 and 30

Given,

The statements: Five years before, the age of Neeraj and Neera was in the ratio 4:5. The ratio of their present ages is 5:6.

To find,

Their present ages.

Solution,

We can easily solve this problem by following the given steps.

According to the question,

We have the following statements:

Five years before, the age of Neeraj and Neera was in the ratio 4:5. The ratio of their present ages is 5:6

Now, let's take the present age of Neeraj to be 5x years and that of Neera to be 6x years.

So, we have:

 \frac{(5x - 5)}{(6x - 5)}  =  \frac{4}{5}

Using the cross multiplication method,

5(5x-5) = 4(6x-5)

25x-25 = 24x-20

25x-24x = -20+25

x = 5

Putting this value of x in their present ages:

Neeraj = 5x years

Neeraj = (5×5) years

Neeraj = 25 years

Neera = 6x years

Neera = (6×5) years

Neera = 30 years

Hence, the present age of Neeraj is 25 years and that of Neera is 30 years.
