ANSWER

Let 'x' be the present age of jacob and 'y' be the age of his sonAs per questionx+5=3(y+5).....(1)x−5=7(y−5).......(2)Adding (1) and (2)2x=3y+15+7y−352x=10y−20x=5y−10...(3)Putting (3) in (1)5y−5=3y+152y=20y=10Putting in (3)x=5×10−10x=40Therefore Present age of Jacob is 40 years and his son is 10 years
