Step-by-step explanation:

➡️ Let the son's age be x

Then the father's age will be 3x.

After 12 yrs.

Son's age = x+12

Father's age = 3x+12

Now according to the condition,

Father's age after 12 yrs. wil be = 2(x+12) = 2x+24

∴ 3x+12 = 2x+24

x = 12

∴ The son's age = 12

& the father's age = 3×12=36

Hope it's help...

Explanation:

Given :

five years ago, father was thrice as old as son. ten years later, father will be twice as old as son.

To Find :

Age of father and son

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Let the father's age be 'x'

and son's age be 'y'

According to the question

5years ago age of father be =x-5

5 years ago age of son =y-5

father was thrice as old as son then our equation look like:-

 =  > x - 5 = 3(y - 5)

 =  > x - 5 = 3y - 15

 =  > x - 3y =  - 10......(1)

Now ,10 years later age of father be x+10

After 10 years age of son =y+10

father will be twice the age the age of son

 =  > x + 10 = 2(y + 10)

 =  > x + 10 = 2y  + 20

 =  > x - 2y = 10........(2)

Now, subtracting equation (1) from equation (2)

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤx-2y=10

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ(-)x-3y=-10

ㅤㅤㅤㅤ______________

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤx-x-2y+3y=10+10

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤy=20

ㅤㅤㅤㅤ_________________

Hence ,son's age is 20 years

finding X's value (father's age ) by putting in equation (1)

x - 3y =  - 10

 =  > x - 3 \times 20 = - 10

 =  > x - 60 =  - 10

x =  - 10 + 60 = 50

\bold{\red{x=50}}

\bold{\blue{y=20}}

∴Father's age is \bold{\red{50\: years}}

son's age is \bold{\blue{20\: years }}
