six years of service is 29,000 and after 10 years is 35,000 find his starting salary and annual increment

Increment every year = y

x +6y = 29,000 ....... eq(1)

x + 10y = 35,000 ......eq(2)

Substract eq(1) from eq(2)

4y = 6,000

y = 1,500

Substitute y= 1500 in eq(1), we get x = 29,000 − 9,000

x = 20,000

starting salary = 20,000

Increment = 1500
