Flip Flop means exchange of molecules from onse monolayer with those in the monolayer on the other side. However phospholipid bilayer has fluid property but no evidence of flip flop mechanism for protein molecule Rotational diffusion and lateral diffusion of protein and lipids is possible in membrane. Absence of flip flop movement detected by electro spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy.

Relative to the lateral movement of the phospholipid molecules, there is very little exchange between the two halves of the bilayer. This minimal exchange, or flip flopaction, allows asymmetric distribution of phospholipids. ... In this model, the membrane is a mosaic of proteins embedded in a fluid phospholipid bilayer.
