Given : A floor is 4.5 m long and 3.6 m wide. A 6 cm square tiles cost Rs. 23.25

To find : What will be the cost to cover the floor with these tiles?

Solution :

A floor is 4.5 m long and 3.6 m wide.

The area of the floor is A= l × b

A= 4.5 × 3.6A

A=16.2m^2A=16.2m

Converting m into cm,

1 m = 100 cm

1 m² = 10000 cm²

So, 16.2m^2=16.2× 10000=162000cm^216.2m²

=16.2×10000=162000cm²

Area of square tile is 6 cm².

Number of tiles required to cover the floor is

n = area of floor / area of tile

n = 6/162000

n =27000

Cost of 1 tile is Rs.23.25.

Cost of 27000 tile is 27000 × 23.25=Rs.62775027000×23.25=Rs.627750

Therefore, The cost to cover the floor with these tiles is Rs.627750.
