Answer:

given,- length=6m, Breadth= 5m.

area of floor = 5m×6m= 30m^2

A/c to question,

side of carpet=4m (square)

so Area of carpet= 4m×4m

=16m^2.

so, the area of floor that is not carpeted,=

Area of floor- Area of carpet

Question:

Floor is 6 m long and 5 m wide. A square carpet of sides 4 m is laid on the floor. Find the area of the floor that is not carpeted.

Answer:

  • 14 sq.m

Step by Step Explanation:

Total area = length × breadth

= 6 × 5

= 30sq.m

Area of carpet = side × side

= 4 × 4

= 16 sq.m

Remaining area of the room = 30 - 16

= 14 sq.m

Hence,

The area of the floor that is not carpeted is 14 sq.m
