Answer:

area of the square = 8 × 8

area of the tiles = 40/100 × 40/100

=0.4 ×0.4

area of the square = number of tiles × area of each tile

8 × 8 = 0.4 × 0.4 ×n

n = 8 × 8 / 0.4×0.4

n = 400

number of tiles equal to 400

Answer:

Given:-

side of floor= 8 m

floor is in the shape of square

therefore area of floor= s× s

= 8×8

and side of tile= 40÷ 100

because 1 m= 100 cm

and therefore side of tile=0.4 cm

and area of single tile= s×s

=0.4× 0.4

= 0.16 m

and area of floor÷ area of single tile = number of tiles

8×8÷ 0.16= 400

therefore number of tiles requires= 400
