. Floor of a room is to be fitted with square marble tiles of the largest possible size. The size of the room is 10 m × 7 m. What should be the size of tiles required that has to be cut and how many such tiles are required?

let the side of each tile be x

because it is a square tile the area is x^2

let 70 = x^2

x=8.36660026534

you can fit it with just one tile of side 8.36660026534 m

 \sqrt{70}  = 8.36m
No. of tiles 70/8.36=8
