Answer→

Required number of square slabes for floor is 42 slabes.

Given→

Length of rectangular floor = 4.20 m or 420 cm

Breadth of rectangular floor = 3.60 m or 360 cm .

Solution→

To find out the minimum number of of square slabes firstly we have to find out the sides of square for that we have to find the HCF of given two numbers.

So Prime factors of numbers are :

420 = 2× 2×3×5×7

360= 2×2×2×3×3×5

HCF = 60

So each side of square is 60 cm .

Now number of square slabes required =

Area of rectangular floor/ area of square slabes.

420×360/60×60

7×6 = 42 .

So, 42 square slabes are required.
