first we will find area of a square room

side of a square room is 10m,

we will convert metre into centimetre 1m=100cm

so 10 metre is 10*100cm=1000cm

area of a square room is side*side or (side)2

area of a square room is (1000cm)2=1000000cm2.

now we will find area of each square tile

side of a square tile is 50cm,

so area of a square tile is side*side or (side)2

area of a square tile is (50cm)2=2500cm2

to find number of tile needed for tilling we will

area of a square room/area of a square tile

1000000cm2/2500cm2=400 tiles

number of tiles needed for tiling square room is 400 tiles
