Floor tiles are 25 cm squares . How many tiles will be needed for a rectangular lawn 12 m long and 10 m wide. Find the total cost at the rate of ₹8 per tile.

Hey buddy

Firstly we have to calculate the area of rectangular lawn that is 120 m^2.

Then change 120 m^2 into cm^2 it will be 12000 cm^2.

Then divide the area of tiles with area of lawn it will be 12000/25 cm
=480

And then multiply it by the cost 8x480=3840.

raven3: the answer is incorrect, because 1m= 100cm so, 1m^2 = 10000cm^2. The correct answer is Rs. 3,84,000 not Rs. 3840.
