Floor tiles are 25cm squares. How many tiles will be needed for a rectangular lawn 12m long and 10m wide. Find the total cost at the rate of 8rs. Per tile.

Length of lawn = 12 m

Breadth of lawn  10 m

Area of lawn = Length * Breadth

                    =12*10

                    =120 square m.

Area of floor tile = 25 square cm

1 cm square = 0.0001 m square

So, 25 square cm =0.0001 *25=0.0025 square m

Number of tiles required to cover the floor = \frac{120}{0.0025}

                                                                       = 48000

Cost of 1 tile = Rs . 8

Cost of 48000 tiles = 48000*8= Rs.384000

Hence  the total cost at the rate of 8rs. Per tile is Rs. 384000
