convertion of primary follicle into graffian follicle :

1 ) the primary follicle are fromed when each primary oocytes gets surrounded by a layer of granulosa cells. ( primary follicle)

2) the primary follicle thus formed gets surrounded by more layers of granulosa cells and a new theca is formed. named as secondary follicle.

3) The secondary follicle soon transforms into a tertiary follicle which is surrounded by a fluid filled cavity called Antrum.

4) The theca layer that is formed during secondary follicle stage is organised into inner theca interna and an outer theca externa .

5) At this stage the primary oocytes within the follicle grows and leads to first meiotic division.
this results in the formation of a haploid secondary oocytes and a polar body.

6) The secondary oocytes retains bulk of the nutrient rich cytoplasm of the primary oocytes.

7) the tertiary follicle further changes into mature follicle called Graafian follicle. the secondary oocytes forms a new membarane called Zona pellucida.

8) the secondary oocytes(ovum) are released due to rupturing of graafian follicle. this process called is called ovulation .

FLOW CHART :

oogonia ----->primary oocytes --->Primary follicle --->secondary follicle ----> tertiary follicle with antrum --->graafian follicle -->ovum -----> corpus luteum.
