Something that tells us about History is a historical source. It can be a document, a picture, a sound recording, a book, a cinema film, a television programme or an object.
Historical sources used by historians are :
A. Primary Sources - consist of things that originate from the past.
Example : A Roman coin made by the Romans
A book written about the Tudors in 1525
B. Secondary Sources - consist of things that have been made recently about the past.
Example : A drawing of a Roman coin made in 2003
A book written about the Tudors in 1995
