They are the reproductive structure of a plant .And flowers are the reproductive organs of angiosperms. It meant for sexual reproduction. So essential whorls are must. A flower can have either androecioum or gynoecium or both since bisexual and unisexual flowers are present . Flower with androecioum and gynoecium is bisexual and flower with any one of it is gynoecium.
