Flowers are zygomorphic in lilium or solanum or datura or hibiscus?

Hello there!

Among these flowers—lilium, solanum, datura, hibiscus—zygomorphism is observed in hibiscus, where the flower can be cut into an equal half in only one plane of symmetry (i.e. bilaterial symmetry) (e.g. human face).

Datura, and lilium is actinomorphic. Actinomorphic flowers are characterized by radial symmetry wherein you can cut the flower into equal parts through different planes (e.g. sea star).

Generally, solanum flowers are actinomorphic, however there are some which are also zygomorphic.

I hope this will help you!

Out of these 4 options, the solanum flower is one of the examples of zygomorphic flower.

Like the typical zygomorphic flowers, a solanum flower can be divided into two similar splits.

This symmetry is also called the mono-symmetry or two-sided symmetry.

These flowers are compatible of partition into basically balanced halves by only one longitudinal plane passing over the axis.
