Let the Price of a cheeseburgers be x and Price of a soda be y.

According to Question,

  • 3x + 4y = $24.50 ...(1)
  • x + 2y = $9.00 ...(2)

We've to multiply Equation (2) with 2 to equalise both Equations as:-

➠ 2(x + 2y = $9.00)

➠ 2x + 4y = $18.00

Now, we can compare both Equations to find required values as:-

3x + 4y = $24.50

2x + 4y = $18.00

- - -

➠ x = $6.50

Now, After substituting value of x in any Equation to get value of y as that:-

✎ 3x + 4y = $24.50

✎ 3 × 6.50 + 4y = $24.50

✎ $19.50 + 4y = $24.50

✎ 4y = $24.50 - $19.50

✎ 4y = $5.00

✎ y = $5.00/4

✎ y = $1.25

Hence,

The Price of one cheeseburger is $6.50 and Price of one soda is $1.25.
